Meet the Clinicians
Amy Cannon, MA, LPC
Amy Cannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has 10+ years of experience working in the mental health field. Amy practiced in both community mental health and private practice before experiencing a traumatic loss of her son in 2021. She considers it an honor and privilege to walk alongside individuals and to be trusted with their stories. It is always her goal to create a safe, judgement-free space where individuals have the opportunity to be their true selves as they find healing and hope.
Amy graduated from Messiah College with a BA in Psychology in 2010 and Towson University with an MA in Counseling Psychology in 2013. She’s worked in a variety of settings, including community mental health, school-based counseling, and private practice which have provided her with extensive experience with children through older adults and a variety of mental health issues.
Megan Rothermel, MSW
Megan Rothermel is a Licensed Social Worker with 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Megan developed a passion for working with families and parents early in her career as a community-based Special Instructor and Social Worker to young children with special needs. After becoming a step-mom and later a biological mom, Megan gained even more awareness of how important support as a parent is when navigating the stress and challenges of family life. In addition to her passion of working with families, Megan also loves supporting women of all ages and stages, from teen girls exploring their identity in the midst of an ever-changing world, to mothers who are trying to redefine their identity outside of motherhood.
Megan’s goal is to create a space of peace, comfort and safety that allows individuals and families to feel secure as they work through the hardness of life. She counts it an honor to be invited into these most vulnerable spaces and walk alongside her clients in their journey toward healing and wellness. She utilizes Trauma-Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory to guide her work with clients.
Megan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The University of Alabama in 2015 and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Samford University in 2022. Her experience includes school settings, community mental health, and private practice working with children, adults and families in various life stages.
